Wow! Marty Looks Great!

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Anti Aging, Antioxidant, Marine d3, Uncategorized

I stopped by my buddy Duke’s house a couple of weeks ago.  I smelled the steaks on the BBQ and thought I would see what was going on.

Well, I found out that he had his dad Marty over for dinner and that Marty had invited my folks to join him.  What a surprise.  My dad was taking a nap on the couch so I gave my mom a big hug and tried not to wake my dad up.

Anyway I had not seen Marty in a while and was very surprised to see how good he looks.  The guy has the energy of a 40 year old and I think he just turned 76.  He and Ed, another of Duke’s friends, were yakking away about nutrition which is a pretty regular topic with Marty.  He is the last one to go to a doctor.  It seems he has an herbal remedy for pretty much anything short of a broken arm.

What I did not know is that Duke’s friend Ed is a real wiz on the subject of supplements and nutrition.  He was listening to Marty talk about a better type of antioxidant.  Apparently, the highest quality, most powerful, antioxidants come from the Oceans of the world.  There are certain species of sea creatures which can live for a couple of hundred years.

There is a product that is related to seaweed that has more powerful Antioxidants than acai berries, blue berries, or pomagranates.  This is said to lead to a more youthful look.  I am not sure if I heard “fountain of youth” but Marty and Ed sure seemed to know what they were talking about.  The subject was going way above my head so I decided that I should look into this supplement when I could get back to my computer.

I found a site where the supplement known as MarineD3 is sold.  I started doing some research and found out that it is really promising.  Hey, I’m not getting any younger myself.  I am 53 years old and I look it and I feel like it.  Now is the time to get going on a program of taking care of myself.  My exercise workout is not really strenuous but I do try to keep in shape.  (round is a shape right?)

So, I looked into MarineD3 and I decided that I needed to get into the supplement business.  If you click on the links on this page I may get paid a small commission for sending you to the MarineD3 site.  It will not add anything to your cost and it will allow me to continue spreading the word and to continue my research into this and other supplements.

Take a look at some of the articles I have posted on my blog.  You can get a feel for what sorts of stuff is available out there.  If you try MarineD3 please let me know how you like it.  I am interested in your feedback.

Does soy milk destroy antioxidants in tea?

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Antioxidant

I recently learned that milk destroys Antioxidants when you put it in tea! I really like putting milk in my tea, but I put soy milk in. Does this still negatively affect tea’s health benefits?
Ack! I just realized my wording is terreble. I mean I use soy milk INSTEAD of regular milk. Not regular milk AND soy milk.

Soy milk lacks the casein that milk bears, therefore it cannot destroy the antioxidants in tea. However, a cup of it can vaporize a small child from up to 60 metres away.

Antioxidants Sprouting Up

DESCRIPTION: What happens to the Antioxidant content of seeds, grains, and beans when you sprout them? I’ve been looking for this kind of study for years and am excited to share it! Homemade sprouts are probably the most nutrition one can get for their money. See Biggest Nutrition Bang for Your Buck (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/biggest-nutrition-bang-for-your-buck/), where they beat out the previous champ, purple cabbage: Superfood Bargains (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/superfood-bargains-2/). Broccoli sprouts are probably the best—see for example The Best Detox (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-best-detox/) and Sulforaphane From Broccoli to Breast (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/sulforaphane-from-broccoli-to-breast/). I would recommend against alfalfa sprouts (even when home sprouted) as fecal bacteria can hide in the seed’s nooks and crannies and cause illness: Don’t Eat Raw Alfalfa Sprouts (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/dont-eat-raw-alfalfa-sprouts/). Sprouted lentils are a one of my favorite snacks—give them a try and let me know what you think!

What are some common household foods that have antioxidants?

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Antioxidant

I need a couple or as many common foods as you can think of that have Antioxidants in them.

Believe it or not, hot cocoa is loaded with anti-oxidants. Not the healthiest of choices, but if you get a nice swiss miss low fat packet in the morning for winter, you’re getting about the same amount of antioxidants that you would find in a glass of red wine.

At what brewing temperature are the most intact antioxidants extracted from white tea?

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Antioxidant

Does boiling water damage the antioxidants or does it help extract the antioxidants intact?

Actually, yes, temperatures high enough to boil water are enough to damage the integrity of the Antioxidants among other nutrients. It’s the same reason that fresh fruits/veggies are healthier and why they say that boiling fruits or vegetables cooks off the vitamins… because it kind of does. Any sort of high heat does damage the nutritional integrity of any herbs (some more than others).
That’s also the reason that some companies like to point out that they use cold processing on their herbs.
